- I Return Phone Calls.
- I Show Up on Time.
- I Listen.
“It is not difficult to pick up a telephone and return a telephone
call, especially in today’s modern age of cell phones, text messaging and
e-mail forwarding. Any attorney who cannot keep in touch, show up on time
and actually take the time to listen to his or her clients should perhaps
consider another line of work…”
The pledge outlined above may seem like it is Business 101, but it
is amazing how many service professionals, particularly attorneys, cannot seem
to find the time to return a simple phone call or bother to respect the time of
their clients by keeping themselves on schedule.
What these attorneys have forgotten is that the practice of law
depends on the ability to obtain and retain clients on a regular basis.
There is a certain level of arrogance amongst many professionals that blinds
them into believing that their clients are ‘theirs’ forever, thus poor client
service becomes routine.
Why am I different?
- I ‘get it’ that clients are deserving of every second of my
attention while working. My office number rings to my cell phone, so
unless I am in Court or meeting with a client, your call is immediately
accessible to me. If I don’t answer directly, you’ll receive a call
back the same business day. You are paying me for my advice – how
can I give advice if we do not communicate?
- I have state-of-the-art scheduling systems that I utilize to
ensure that I have managed my time in a manner that will permit me to be
on time and prepared for your hearing or meeting. I will not
schedule a pre-trial in Euclid at 9:00 and a meeting in Berea at
9:30. That is irresponsible, unprofessional and disrespectful of
your time as a client. You are paying me for my time - why should I
waste yours?
- My holistic approach means that I want to know everything
about your situation. I expect and demand full honesty and
disclosure from my clients and will take the time to get to know you and
your situation before we discuss potential solutions. How can I
represent you if I do not know you?
Who
am I?
I
am pretty much a life-long resident of the Cleveland area. I grew up in Solon, where I attended St. Rita
School (Class of ’85) and Solon High School (Class of ’89). I then went on to college at Miami
University, graduating in 1993 and finalized my education at Cleveland-Marshall
College of Law, receiving my Juris Doctor in 1997. I took and passed the Ohio Bar Exam the same
year and immediately entered private practice.
I presently live in Strongsville with my wife, two children and a
cat and dog.
